An Emergency Action Plan (EAP) is a written document that outlines procedures for how an organization’s staff will respond to emergencies, ensuring safety, protecting property, and maintaining operations during an incident. An EAP details expected emergencies (like blackout, gas embolism, pulmonary edema, cardiac arrest, adverse weather), defines roles and responsibilities, and specifies procedures for reporting emergencies, evacuation, sheltering-in-place, and accounting for all personnel.
